During your stay at Elm Cottage, you may see some of the following birds:

Wood Duck, Australian Raven, Pacific Black Duck, Willie Wagtail, White-necked Heron, Grey Fantail, White-faced Heron, Peewee, Wedge-tailed Eagle, White-winged Chough, Swamp Harrier, Scarlet Robin, Nankeen Kestrel, Silvereye, Yellow-tailed Black-cockatoo, Welcome Swallow, Galah, Common Starling, Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, Common Blackbird, Crimson Rosella Red-browed Finch, Double-barred Finch, Eastern Rosella, Laughing Kookaburra, Satin Bowerbird, Superb Fairy-wren, Brown Thornbill, Yellow-rumped Thornbill, Yellow-faced Honeyeater, White-plumed Honeyeater, New Holland Honeyeater, Noisy Friarbird, Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike, Grey Shrike-thrush, Australian Magpie

Take a walk through town and watch out for:

Maned Duck, Pacific Black Duck, Gray Teal, White-eyed Duck, Great Cormorant, Little Pied Cormorant, Australasian Darter, Great Egret, Intermediate Egret, White-faced Heron, Australian Ibis, Straw-necked Ibis, Australian Kite, Whistling Kite, Purple Swamphen, Eurasian Coot, Masked Lapwing, Laughing Kookaburra, Galah, Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, Crimson Rosella (Crimson), Eastern Rosella, Superb Fairywren, Australasian Magpie, Gray Shrike-Thrush, Gray Fantail, Australian Raven, Silver-eye, Eurasian Blackbird, European Starling, European Goldfinch, Red-browed Firetail, Double-barred Finch.

The Blowering Cliffs walk is home to:

Common Bronzewing, Brown Falcon, Gang-gang Cockatoo, Crimson Rosella, Black-backed Australiasian Magpie, Gray Fantail, White-winged Chough, Jacky-winter, Welcome Swallow, European Starling.

Often spotted in the Weeraboolera State Conservation Area are:

Laughing Kookaburra, Gang-gang Cockatoo, Crimson Rosella (Crimson), Australian King-Parrot, White-throated Treecreeper, Superb Fairywren, Fuscous Honeyeater, Spotted Pardalote, White-browed Scrubwren, Spotted Quail-thrush, Pied Currawong, Crested Shrike-tit, Gray Fantail, Australian Raven, Eastern Yellow Robin, Red-browed Firetail
